I went carp fishing from sunrise to sunset today and my first fish was Grandpa Whiskers. I was trying out some flavored corn called "Raspberry Carp Crack" that another carp fisherman mailed me so I could test it out. I didn't catch any carp on it, but Grandpa Whiskers seemed to like it. I guess he was the only crackhead in the area. I don't target cats much but I catch quite a few by accident while carp fishing, but they're usually small. I think Gramps was my 2nd biggest at 10lbs 13oz. I didn't get any good pics because it was so cold the battery in my camera died, my cell phone sucks, and my buddy's right hand was slimed up from the fish and he doesn't have the steadiest left hand.
After I said goodbye to Grandpa I landed 5 more smaller channels throughout the day, and 10 small carp. Three of the carp were mid teens and the rest were babies under 10lbs. A few of the small ones had great genes and could grow into tanks someday. They were shaped like a slab crappie that had swallowed a softball. One of the carp was caught on strawberry flavored corn and the rest of the cats and carp took oat balls or butternut flavored corn puffs, both with maple flavored rolled oats pack bait.
