We had found some fish on Wednesday but the ling do not like the strong south wind we had Friday. We did not get out Saturday which for the best as the few bottom boats out did not have much success. There was a lot of north wind when we sailed today but if you check our pictures you will see it died to nothing. I started where we left off on Wednesday and the dogs where so thick you could not stay,
We fish 4 different areas and there were plenty of short black fish in 3 of them, Larry Gove from South Boundbrook loved todays action with about 20 tog caught but he only had one keeper but it was the right one and he won todays pool. He did drop one other good fish. Some guys like Freddy did manage 4 keepers for his limit. And some only had shorts. The ling fishing was tough today with only a few each drop but we did manage 4 keeper cod today. Mike the plumber was lucky to catch a stripe bass just inside the 3 mile line. He also released our first sea bass of the spring.
WE WILL NOT SAIL MONDAY NOR TUESDAY WITH THE EAST WIND. The end of the week looks good. With only a week or so left in the tog season and the fact that they are starting to bite, we will spend more time on black fish.
Thanks Captain George
