Lard Almighty

Decided to let the sun warm the waters a bit and hit the afternoon bite. I fished JFK Park in Sayreville from 3:30 to 6:30. Fishing was pretty slow; I managed four bass in the 1.5 to 2 pound range, plus a few hits. Two came on a weightless senko, and two came on a black and purple spinnerbait. All the hits came in windswept coves where shallow water transitioned to deep water; a classic early season bass pattern. The fish are in full pre-spawn mode now, which means that, if you can find them, you can catch them.
