Oradell Gate #2:
Temp: 38
Wind: probably West of 14-18 mph

Tried a few spots where I caught LMB, SMB, white perch, yellow perch and crappies last year.

Lures:
jig (1/8, 1/4) with grub
in-line spinner: mepps dressed #2
spoon: 1/2 oz
Trick worm with 60 degree jig head

NADA.

I didn't see any bait fish or any crawfish. What does Bass eat when it's this cold? Do they even eat anything?

I am gonna hit the Emerson gate tomorrow for Carp & Yellow perch or whatever will consume my Canadian night crawlers. Usually go to the Harwoth gate but this is a shorter walk and area looks better since it is next to a stream that is feed from Emerson. See 'ya later

It doesnt matter now as the reports arent anything to write home about, but as it picks up you may want to be a bit more vague in your reports. There's a lot more people fishing in this area in the last few years than I have ever seen before (and I've been fishing here since I could stand). One of the local holes I used to fish more or less alone for years and years is now often crowded and I never even considered posting it online. Reports are great but your best probably leaving it to just the res in general and not gates, structure, and so forth. I rarely fish there and I live down the block, just a heads up so you dont ruin your own spots.

Agreed. So I was somewhere in NJ fishing the other month when I caught a certain fish. It was a nice fish. The weather outside was weather at the time. This place was right near that other place by those trees. ;)

Not sure you are just being funny or being sarcastic. :)

I was somewhere in the Oradel reservoir today with NO luck but it was a nice refreshing time. Thank you for the advise as to my favorite "honey spots" too!!!!

Water is probably too cold for fish to be near the shore. They are probably still in deep water where shore anglers can't reach.

Since my post struck such a sensitive nerve let me clarify...Saying Oradell Reservoir is enough, when you start getting into what gates your fishing then your really keying in on spots as most of you aren't hiking a half hour to get to spots far from the gates. Why not just post an open invite to guide everyone that wants to go for free? Look at the passaic, the number of people fishing it and reporting about it have gone through the roof. Anyone that can use a computer can figure out these locations pretty easily. We aren't talking fishing bunker pods where the bite is in one spot one morning and another by lunch. The actual fishable areas on the res (and many other areas) are pretty small, and if you guys were to actually put together a good catch one day then you can most certainly bet that people will show up in force. But as long as you don't catch, then there won't be an issue. By the way, sarcasm is awesome!

I don't think I can invite anyone since I didn't apply for Guest passes. I only apply for my family. Sorry, No free pass. :)

I would def agree with you to an extent. Def just post the name of the lake, not the exact location and gps coordinates, lol. Far as the Passaic goes, I was fishing it longer than I was posting about it as many others my have to. Local waters and all.... And I can def say, I've seen a good portion of the Passaic and still see pics with full background and have no clue where they are!!
