First Pike of the Year on my new/used John Boat...

Hit the Passaic this morning from 9am - noon to try out my brand new (USED) john boat :rolleyes: ..... Weather started off nice at 45 degrees, clear and calm water... then took a turn for the worse as it got very windy and cold... I managed to nail this guy early on using a jointed rebel that I fish like a jerk bait... Pike went 32" and 8 lbs..... :cool:

Congrats. I tossed around spinnerbait for an hour or so Friday in the Fairfield/Rt 46 area w/o seeing a damn thing. Water was only 46F and still higher than I like(too much current/not enough slack water). In fact didn't see any fish not even a minnow. Strange...

Nice catch Fly !!!!! I finally got out yesterday morning for the first time this year. I just wanted to fish 2 holes and I didn't even make a cast until I got there. The first spot gave up 3 pike in the mid 30's and then I landed 2, about the same size in the second spot. A very good start to the kayak season on the Passaic. All were caught with the same white/yellow spinner bait.

Way to get em too Dan...:D I would of liked to stay out longer to nail a few more of these bad boys like you but the water was way to choppy and it got cold as hell.... lookin forward to this upcoming weekend...:cool:

Got my first 3 of the year yesterday. All on #4 Mepps spinners with gold blades... Man did they mangle that lure lol...
