Was throwing mostly husky jerks and hard swimbaits today looking for some rogue pike and was hit by this little pig. Ended up weighin just a hair over 4 1/4lbs. Put up a halfway decent fight considering the still low water temps. Snapped a couple shotty pics and she was released. Was good to see the bass bite coming back on after a long winter of pikeing.

Pompton Lake or River?
Hey Skunk, It was just off the main section of PL. Really just starting to get back to fishin over there after most the winter was spent searching on the Passaic.

Nice, we did pretty well this time last year with Yellow Perch in the section I think you were fishing.
Was there ice on the main lake or anywhere in the lake?

None whatsoever as far as i can tell, even the coves are iced out. In fact, most of the lake has been open water for at least a couple weeks now.
