Looking ahead to the forecasted 50 degree days this weekend. I'm hoping at least to get out in the kayak, possibly a buddy's boat if possible. Anyone drive passed or know of any open water in NNJ?

Pompton Lake?
Greenwood?
Wawayanda?
South/Dam side Monksville?

Pompton had some open water. If greenwood is open waywayanda will be open and vice versa. If u look at my Facebook page from last weekend u can see hopatcong had open water by Brady so I would assume most lakes are open or opening up

I banked fished the Doty Rd bridge last week. The water is all open from the Potash spillway downstream to the causeway, but i don't know what the north coves look like on the lake. I might be down that way tonight.

Cool, keep me posted if you can. I did well there last year early season with Crappie in the coves.

Did you happen to see the area near the boat ramp?

Sorry Rob...was not down by the dock area by Dows if that's what you are talking about. All of the docks at the marinas by Brady Bridge were wide open...there was no ice anywhere near there. If you call Dows, I am sure Laurie could give you an ice report.

the reservoirs going up route 23 are all wide open now, everything pretty much should be

Up Rt. 23 I think it depends a lot on location. I got my 2013 Newark Watershed permits yesterday and stopped by Echo and Clinton and they are both still ice'd over - only a little melted at the edges.

LH is somewhat open, the state park launch is clear a 1/3 of the way to bertrands island and no further as of yesterday. Lees is almost thawed they open the 17th weekend. Cranberry lake is wide open no ice, guys out yesterday on a jon boat. Musconetcong is open mostly, launch is free all the way to back island. Aeroflex is open, no dock at launch so may be tuff for boat launch. And RV is wide open docks r there too. Greenwood is like LH iced in the coves open in the main, not sure if you can launch anywhere u gotta call. Im gonna go out for an hour sat. local to watertest my new boat Im hoping LH will be open for next weekend to jig up sum toothies

I drove up along the west side of Greenwood Lake this past weekend. There was some open water along the shoreline, but most of the lake was still covered with ice. People were out ice fishing on the east side of Pine Island, and up in the NY end out in front of that waterfront park.
I think you can cross Greenwood Lake off your list for a couple more weeks Rob.
