Lets have some fun. I'll start. Mine is the Musconnetcong in Hackettstown, NJ. Nice scenery and a great place to fish. Caught many nice browns and brookies there. Yours is?
Take care.

India brook, Mendham. Its about 5-8 feet wide. Wild browns and stockies. 1 problem, it gets really low when there's. No rain.

I don't trout fish to much anymore but this brook is great. My favorite river is the BIG D. I do very well on the big river. Walleye, smallies, shad, stripers, channels, flatheads, holdover trout and miusky. The BIG D is my 2nd home. :D

I have tried the big D several times since i got my kayak last spring --but have not had any luck with the fishing so far--i usually am near Worthigton or the Gap because of easy access--maybe my location or time of year is off--as for trout I always have a soft spot for the Flatbrook where my dad started us on our fishing as kids.

Raritan since it's a few blocks for my house. Even though I CAN'T CATCH SHIT OUT OF THERE BESIDES WHITE PERCH AND SMALL CATS.
I'd probably say Delaware if it was closer to my house.

To be honest I'd have to say the Ramapo early spring for smallies. Other than that though I'd have to go with the Passaic both below and above the dundee.

Pompton River, the quiet little stepsister of the Passaic. Tons of Pike, rarely a skunking.

Pohatcong creek, started fishing again a couple years ago and have found the little creek to be very friendly and close to may house. But to be honest, I have many favorite rivers, it is usually the one I'm on, Big D, Musky SB or the Pohat. Spruce Run res and the South Branch around High Bridge are very special to me, I grew up fishing them and when you go back and fish them it brings back some fond memories as some place down along the river haven't changed in 50 years.

I would have to say THE RARITAN as well. I fish both ends, up north and down to the bay! I've had many memorable outings as almost all of my largest trout have come from there as well as some unbelievable salt water fishing on the lower end. Hoping that the shad really establishing a good run which would only make it a greater river than it already is..............

Delaware River.
Now, @ 8 miles away it is close,…………………..but not as convenient as the 200 yds. walk I made from my rented house trailer for 9 years. That wuz heaven!!
Walleye, smallies, shad, stripers,……………….sometimes trout.
Bald eagles, ospreys, warblers in the spring & night hawks flying high overhead @ dusk in early summer.
Also, find some cool, useful stuff washed up on its shores.
Best find: $200 (four $50’s folded in half). The BIG D is my lucky river!.

I would like to say the Raritan, but it's a decent drive for me to get there since I moved. I have to give the nod to Hockhockson Brook; it's 5 minutes from my apartment, does not get fished too heavily, and I can go there any time of year and catch something, whether it's trout, sunnies, small bass or pickerel. Quite a sucker run in the spring, too.

I'll go with the Passaic as well.
I grew up throwing rocks into the mud down in the tidal area and watching the oil slick form when I did. That river was an open sewer back in those days, and the change to what it is now is amazing. I've caught large and smallmouth bass, pike, carp, perch, and sunnies above the Dundee Dam, and I've caught carp, large and smallmouth bass, stripers, sunnies, perch, and even a gizzard shad in the tidal section. Hard to beat that kind of diversity.

LOL, I grew up fishing the Hockhockson Brook Lard, and it's no river. I'm going with the Delaware it's close by and has lots of opportunities for different fish.

Toss up between Passaic and Pequest. The large, pretty colors in the Pequest or the large, toothy critters in the Passaic... Hmmm...
Pequaic?

I feel the need to put up another vote for the Passaic- I have really enjoyed taking the kayak out and exploring all over the river. Never really fished it until joining the site so thanks to all the posts.
