Spent my day off targeting yellow perch and black crappie. It took a little while to find out what the fish wanted. Once I did I ended up catching a few yellow perch (about a dozen) and two large mouths. It was cold and the eyes on the rod kept freezing but it was worth it.

I LOVE the rocky shoreline and cool drop offs !!! Way to give winter the finger and keep fishing.

It's a spinner, but I was using a plain 1/16 jighead with a powerbait minnow.
Which guy were you, the guy with the blue hat or the other guy? I moved to another location and ended up catching that bass. SLUGGISH fish. Nothing else was biting where I went. I was thinking of going back over, but the hunger pains took over and I had to go grab some lunch. Did you catch anything else besides yellow perch?

Thanks guys. It felt real good to be out and feeling the line tighten up. I've had some serious cabin fever this winter. Bring on the spring and warmer weather

Nice bass AND yellow perch, been trying to catch a few nice ones for a fish dinner but so far no love for me!!! Tried a few spots and nothing, ice fished LH and nothing, tried farrington got one dink and a tiny bluegill. Hope to find a decent spot soon cause KEYPORT FISHERY is getting to expensive!!!LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!

The other guy. All yellow perch but some decent ones. Had about 10 all together. Another 3 weeks and the other side will be really good.

Dirty Catch! Love the Large Mouth! Considering the frigid temperatures, that's a good fish.

I'm hoping some of that "dirtiness" will rub off on me this season..:D

I just had some yellow perch for dinner. I try my best not to buy my fish to eat. Sometimes, a man has to though. I crave fluke and flounder and I don't have any in the freezer, so I'm left to buying some. Can't wait for the season to start. ( Oh wait, this is the freshwater section, I shouldn't be mentioning saltwater fish here)
