ice budd lake prohibited?

Was on my way out the door and didn't have time to look into it but i belive that ice fishing is now prohibited

News 12 just reported no more ice fishing allowed on Budd.

Saw the same thing.. Only problem is.. I grew up in that area.. Never a lot of law enforment there to enforce any of the rules.. LIKE the huge sign that says no jet skis on the weekends.. but i have yet to see that.. this is not the first time a accident has happened on the lake.. One of the best was the women that thought parking was behind the boat house.. people who know what im talking about know that behind the boat house is the lake and when it freezes the docks in the water make it look like parking spots.. and with the boat ramp there she drove down it and Needless to say.. her brand new SUV was 10 feet under water.. lol


Or the guy the other day out there saying he was going to kill his self and was laying on the ice feet away from open water..


As a kid.. we had been messing around on that ice every year.. Taking our dirt bikes, snow moblies and quads out there and having a blast.. But we did wait till we had good ice under our feet but still found some soft spots here and there..

Hopefully this isn't true but I wouldn't be surprised if it was. People tend to overreact when things like this happen. Not allowing ice fishing on the lake will only negatively affect people who like to responsibly enjoy winter activities and it won't prevent teenagers from going on the ice.

its not the lakes fault the kids fell through b.c they were being unsafe maybe a more restricted acess at the most would be more understandable like they do down on manasquan and some others in nj where they moniter the ice. All in all it should stay how it was b.c its the irresponsible or inexperienced anglers that were being unsafe not the lake

We should get there in the dark and hike all the way to the back, set up a giant spread of tipups and have a party out there. They can yell at us from the road all they want, they won't walk to the back.
