Saw people ice skating on Milton lake in Rahway today with a good 6 inches in the middle of the lake at the bend. Is it ice fishing safe? What will hit under the ice there?

Largemouth, crappie, panfish and catfish. I'm shocked there is people out there. Cops drive by and kick people off every body of water in union county. Give it shot before the warm weather comes in and let us know how you do. Set up right in the channel at the bend or right up at the island.

Never really got the chance to get out while it was solid. Since then, hasn't been even a good two inches of ice. Don't know if it's gonna freeze again or if spring is gonna come

Is it ice fishing safe?
old wise man says: nobody can tell you if the ice is safe, just how thick it is. you have to decide for yourself if it is safe.
