My brother invited me out to PA to fish for trout with a couple of his buddies. We fished three small streams out in the Blue Mountains, between the four of us we caught 7 trout, with a few swings and misses thrown in. Couple of wild brownies in the 13-14 inch class, but nothing big. Fish were hitting a mix of spinners, rapalas, trout magnets, and jigs. We fished some really nice looking water, I was surprised we didn't catch more. All the streams we fished were low and crystal clear.

Spinners will outfish anything else but only if stream temps are above 45F and preferably above 50F. Right now with runoff from snow/ice, stream temps are struggling to reach 40F. In cold water, fly fishing with large - #8 or larger - beadhead nymphs or weighted nymphs will do much better. Or you can also use the nymphs with the spin gear by adding a little bb shot to be able to cast it far enough. I call it sply fishing:p

Nice...If those fish were caught during the current FREEZE, absolutely awesome.
If before, well...still awesome!

You da man! Ready to try ice fishing with me? I have everything you need. You said you wanted to go. I'm waiting on you. I need a big guy like you to walk in front of me to test the ice. LOL Also, I need a young big guy to run my auger all day! You'll have an interesting day. An an old pro will show you the ropes.

Nice pictures. I've been to this area before at the race track. How far is the stream from Penn National Race Track?
