I wanted to get out yesterday but I couldn't launch where I wanted to. Heading out Sunday with the warm spring like temps in place. Where is everyone fishing this weekend? What lake or river has the HOT bite right now in your opinion? Im just looking for ideas. TIGHT LINES!!!

Anyone ever fish the feeder canal? I might have my sights set there. Possible musky or walleye? If I had more than a Jon and trolling motor I'd hit the big river but if I go down river I prob won't make it back up lol

Hmmm all great ideas. I need to catch something. Walleye or Musky or both. Going somwhere in NJ. Fished the BIG D all day yesterday, not 1 nibble or bite. Owls nest has no shiners or any other baitfish if your heading that way. YEA BUDDY!!!

I checked the state park this morning and its not opened up enuff to get thru theres ice 20 ft off the launch and all the way to bertrans island. The only thing that I know that is open is roundvalley and I think spruce run, otherwise there are some smaller lakes that were reported open that hold musky. Im dieing to go out too especially w the near 60 temps forecasted sunday. We need some ice check info!!

Ive narrowed my choices down to boating on the BID D. I can launch on the Nj side or hit my old spots on the Pa side. I can put the yak in at Poxono and jig the slow water for whatever is swimming, pretty deep hole there. Or maybe Ill put the yak in at Monks, paddle to the edge of the ice at the bridge and set up some tip-ups then jig in open water at the same time. LOL, Im still not sure what the hell I wana do or whee to go. FML!!! HELP!!!

Maybe the Musky or the Pohat for some trout. I would like to get the boat out. Got heat in it, but probably won't need it Sunday.

I'll be offshore on Sunday Andy. Glad to see that you slayed some hump heads. Anything huge? Cod, Pollack, hake, tiles? I'll def report back Sunday or Monday morning. Leaving outta long island at 1 am to get to the grounds well before sun up and the party boats.

Now what to do tomorrow???? Rain muddied my passaic plans. RVR with spoons and yozuris?????

Can't believe those 2 lakes have ice on em. Usually the last to freeze when it comes to small lakes. Didn't go by the Passaic at all but we definitely had some good rain last night. Probably not too high but I guarantee its chocolate milk.

Will be at either of those in my buddy's boat tomorrow AM. Will keep an eye out for you. Hoping theres ice free ramps up there. You hear anything?

I fished the Passaic today. I wouldn't call it chocolate milk but it was definitely clay stained. Water temps around 39/40 with slightly above normal flow. Not much life to report except a catfish head floating by. Good luck tomorrow.

Im hearing the south side of Monks may be the only place to get on. If you hear of a boat ramp open on another lake, please let me know. Shoot me a PM. As of right now Ill probably put the yak in Monks.

If You guys are yakin there is a public park on the north end of greenwood lake with a pier that extends out into the lake that maybe will not have ice to launch from. I don't know the conditions of the ice though. It's not to far of a drive from monks so it may be worth a try you can always shoot back to monksville. Can't believe I can't go fishing all weekend been in bed for the 3rd day now wit this damn flu....

Went ultralight jigging in a 43 degree Central NJ lake with ice in the middle for < 2 hours yesterday afternoon. Caught 4 perch with my first 4 casts this year. Ended up catching and releasing 10 white perch to 8.25", 8 yellow perch to 8", 7 crappies to 9" and a shad. That's a 26 fish per trip average for this year. Ultralight jigging is lots of fun.

Just got back from Monksville. The fog is thicker than ive ever seen it. Stayed and fished the boat ramp drop offs and came up empty. Quite a few boats out there but couldn't see any of them. Visibility was about 20 feet when I got off Skunksville at 1. North side of GWL is wide open. TIGHT LINES!!!:D

Just got back from my monthly Monksville B*tchslapping session as well. Crazy fog, thank god for navionics, lost my bearings a few times jigging the sunken island! Was 7 trailers in the lot when we left.

Hey skunk how'd you guys do over in monks'? I believe you guys beat us the the totowa bait and nearly bought them out of shiners lol. I hit the passaic with a buddy but like another report it was stained and a little higher than its been in days past. Absolutely nothing to report except I scared a few pike walkin the bank. They seem very skittish for some reason today. I would imagine it'll take a solid week for levels to go back down to where they were a few days ago.

Ya I was in a green boat got on the water around 3 I guess. You'll get one. Anywhere on that river holds pike. I just couldn't find them today. Seems in the winter you need to hit them in the face with it

Nice one is better then none lol. I'm going to have to Waite for the weekend for redemption. It's not often you get skunked on the river
