Lost dad today.
He was the reason why I fish .
I'll be looking for a charter soon to help me
spread his ashes in raritan bay
Near new dorp by the high school
(Staten Island)
He would have insisted that we catch something
after.
Pm me if y r interested
It would be a detour
But must be a fishing trip after
OMG
If he was younger than 94
He would have loved this site

Lost my dad in 2008. He moved to Florida 15 years ago every time I went fishing I would call him after and tell him about the trip. Miss him my prayers are with you.

May he rest in peace. He clearly left behind much joy and happiness - may you find solace in all of the memories you created with him.

Why now?
If dad had a favorite fishing season, that might be the perfect time to take him fishing once more.
Just a thought in an obvious tough time for you.

true...
I was just trying to respect his wishes.
Maybe an early spring trip will be better - and easier to pull off.
But his favorite season was def the winter cod/ling/blackfish thing.

Sorry for your loss. May the four winds deliver your father safely home......
I hope one of the charter boats writes to you and takes you out for a trip to the Scotland after your dad's ashes are taken care of. Would be a nice thing to go to Scotland and catch some ling and hopefully a cod and blackfish for your dad.

MY condolences, sorry for your loss I can only imagine how you must feel, the pain is deep.
My dad is still around ,at 85 he is still pretty sharp and a heck of a card player,he suffers from emphysema and lung cancer, living on oxygen. since the middle of november he has either been in the hospital or rehab, fighting a sticky pneumonia. News years day he was in rehab I was just getting ready to go over and visit with him for a while like I do every day, they called and said he was being taken to the hospital he had severe trouble breathing, the hospital said they had to install a breathing tube, I thought we were gonna loose him, from the breathing tube to the pap machine to back to breathing on his own with oxygen of course, right now he is in rehab, we got a second chance. Going forward I don't know yet whether or not he can live on his own, but he is willfull and truly enjoys life, and a fighter, I believe he's got a good shot. We are all there for him. I am thankfull for every day that he is still able to talk to me.

I am a fisherman!
It is not merely something that I do,
It is who I am!
Fishing is not simply my escape,
It is where I truly belong,
Where I am supposed to be!
It is not a place that I go,
But a lifelong journey I am taking.
It is a passage that my father showed to me,
And that I will continue to show to others.
When you understand all of this,
You will then know me,
And we will fish together.

Condolences..
My father passed in 99 and just last year I full filled the promise to put his ashes where Ambrose Light Tower used to be. Better late than never.
