Renewed the license and wanted to take the new waders for a test drive so I headed up to the Musky with a friend. Fished from 1pm-4pm. Hit two diff stretches and had some action. I managed to catch 3 browns on a Challenger minnow in a bronze/silver color. My buddy got the skunk. All 3 fish were cookie cutters but feisty--jumping and putting on a decent show. It was def nice to get the first fish of 2013 out of the way early and enjoy the really nice weather.
As for the waders--they're my first time in neoprene and I was not disappointed. Less drag in moving water and the increased foot buoyancy was nice when treading thru the water. They're also VERY warm. Don't think they'd be appropriate in the warmer months!!
Here's a pic I snapped of one of the browns I landed. All fish were about this size. Catch 'em up!
