Hit one of my old favorite spots with my pops today can't really say where cause don't know if your technicaly aloud there. Anyway was there a couple hours my pops managed this pike and I lost a really nice one but settled for a decent pickeral. Res. Had some frozen parts its really a challenge to catch fish on artificials in this cold so we are happy with the days action. Lures used were spoons and lucky craft suspending jerk baits. Reservoir x is a reservoir located in passaic county and is easily accesable, but not recomended. ;)

No name Res huh with Pike and Pics huh? Address to put in my navi? GPS coordinates maybe?
Just kidding man lol. Got a few spots like that. Catching stuff there makes it worth the risk of getting nabbed. Nice fish and keep her secret! Too many scavengers 'round here!

Whoa, those are some pretty harsh words to be throwin around! i'm sure most of us have a spot or two that you are not supposed to fish at. I'm not saying it's okay or the right thing to do but i think you should have thought about your reply a little longer before you bashed that guy!

Hey acabtp the place is off limits but I got permission to be there so I was ALLOWED to be there. Where I come from being an internet tough guy makes you a LOSER. Bet you tapped the keys real hard when you typed that message you tough guy you. Anyone else iterested in any info on how to get on pm me. If your a guy that passes out good info here about fishing spots, I have no prob. Helping a fellow angler out that looks out for other anglers here. By the way I bring a plastic bag with me and pick up any trash I find cause I respect our natural resources and I don't walk on someone's property and fish someone's pond that they built and and stocked, like acabtp makes it sound. This is a natural resource that the govt. Decided to close off unless you know someone which I do and would be glad to put others on to as long as I know that person helps others out also and will respect the lake.

Poaching is TAKING plants or animals illegally. All the fish were returned to the lake. Matter of fact I release 95 percent of the fish i catch even legal limits. Once again you have made an accusation without proper evidence. You are an idiot, a mis informed idiot. I had PERMISSION to be there you idiot. They still give out special permits you moron. I didnt say in my first post i had permission..... who the hell appointed you the chief of fish and game that i have to tell you everything you idiot!!! You must be drunk thats what it is, it is new years eve your def. are typing like a drunken fool there cant be any other explanation haha. NOW STOP READING MY POSTS IF YOU DONT LIKE THEM YOU FOOL!!!!!!!

Here we go again, ok lets do this nice and slow. I was allowed to be there but you have to get permission to be there which i had........ ok here comes the hard part here we go, didnt want people to assume you could go there without permission. dont believe me call the department of fish and game and ask if there is any places in the state you can only fish with a permit aka permission. Go to these places with the permit its ok without a permit you are trespassing wow see how that works amazing isnt it. Did you expect me to put the persons name address and contact info on here?? Now like i said the guys on here that always put good info on here and help other anglers out like skunk and fasteddie, I have no problem hooking them up with permission to go to my spot. so you see its not just bragging im willing to hook a fellow angler up and I have many times in the past. You dont know me from a hole in the ground so you shouldnt attempt to pass judgement on me or anyone like that. And to try and make yourself out to be some kind of saint makes you look silly. I have wasted enough time on you I am done.

POACHING is the illegal taking of wildlife, game or fish, trespassing while taking wildlife, littering or the employment of any means to gain an unfair advantage over other users of the state's precious wildlife resources.
Thats the official nj department of fish and game definition of poaching. See that silly little word taking in there. Even if someone is trespassing they would have to be TAKING wildlife to be poaching otherwise they are just trespassing. I hope I have cleared that up for you.

I like the report, what the heck do I care what the rules are for this lake. The guy said he would tell you in a PM where he was fishing. Good things can come of this. Instead of knee jerk reactions we can sit back and write letters to the State asking why this lake may or may not be open to the public. We can inqure within county rights and regulations to access said lake. We can write letters to F&G asking about certain areas and if and when they were ever stocked. Trust me I drive many private trout streams here in NJ but I just keep on moving on. It raises the bar for me, do I really need to fish a private club to catch fish, heck no, I am better than that.
The post gives us an insight to what is really out there, Want change, get involved, don't smear the guy on here just because he caught a few fish.

Thanks for the support Andy, coming from a well envolved guy like yourself is nice. Because of a few people I know I'm able to fish the place and am pretty sure tax payer dollars were used to stock it but the taxpayer isn't allowed to fish it is not fair in my oppinion. I will gladly take some of the regulars out there from njfishing. I was able to catch my first walleye from info I gathered on this site and had many other outings stemming from njfishing reports.

Nice Catch. Just out of curiosity, how'd pike get in there anyway if there's no fishing aloud and there not stocked anywhere close enough to migrate into the lake??

Thanx guys, I'm not sure northjerz but I know hybrids were put in I have caught many in the past, they are slowly starting to die off being that they don't reproduce. The pike have been slowly starting to appear more and more, my first was about 7 years ago. A place that big I would have to think they were stocked to be able to reproduce. It's a damn hard place to get any info out of, they keep there stuff top secret man. I have caught them from 15 inches to 20 lbs. Place has potential to be a great pike fishery, but still they are few and far between. This fall we have caught about 10-15 total.

Jrock I met a dude with a young kid ice fishing Monks 2 years ago. He says he lives right over the bridge and takes a quad trail over some hill and fishes the falls area. Is that possible? You probably know him,he lives in the area.

So I decided that in the event that reservoir x is in fact the wanaque I was curious if was even possible to attain a permit. Well let's just say that if you attempt it good luck and if you go out there and fish it on your own accord and your caught well read about you in the newspaper. I did some research and called the wanaque pd, fish and game, njdwc, and franks b&t and there is absolutely no way. The reservoir "police" or security as I was told there called are extremely rude and unprofessional and tried to imply I had some type of negative intent which since I'm obviously posting on this thread couldn't be further from the truth. From the conversation I had with them there are no warnings and they would be more than happy to arrest you as I was told. More than likely it is another reservoir but I just wanted to post this info before someone else jumps through hoops like I attempted or gets themselves in trouble. Tight lines everyone!

Ok its not charlottesburg which I talked to a few guys who say they have fished it and it has big brown trout but no pics so I don't know if its true or not never fished it. Point view I fished when I was a kid they used to have a gaurd at the gate and he would let us in. Not that great fishing back then some bass and good sized crappie don't remember it being special. Did pines lake a lot years ago in Wayne my buddy used to live there. The bass fishing was outstanding and the pike wasn't to bad there either lots of fish then don't know about now don't have any access. Bottom line is there are many great fisheries in the state that are private or permits are needed so a little work and research can pay off well. Hey basspilot good info there, of coarse they are gonna make it sound like the end of the world if you go there its there job, you should of asked them about the stocking info. For the res? And where the money comes from to stock it, and what about the boat that brings out dignitaries and politicians on guided trips out there and how you can get on that list lol...... I'm sure they would say they don't know anything about it lol. I know someone who has gone out so you better believe it. I wouldn't recomend anyone going there though unless you gain permission wich is very hard but not impossible but from what I hear its awsome largemouth fishing, pike are coming on stronger ever year, hybrid stripers are in there but hard to find. HUGE white perch, GIANT pickeral, crappie are hard to find but are GIANTS also. Oh and the channel cats are pretty big in there also. Just remember guys there is a difference in fishing a private lake that the residents pay to be stocked and maintaned without permission that's not cool in my book. But there are plenty of lakes and reservoires that are maintaned and stocked by our tax dollars that we are restricted from, why I ask what's the reason? This I don't agree with.
