I came across a new but obviously old stock reel that I had and never even knew. It must have been in my attic for years. I got a question, would this make a decent reel for sea bass jigging? The 113 has 2:1 ratio but that shouldn't matter on a jigging rod, right?

IMHO the reel is too slow and too heavy to be holding all day.

old school but , all the cranking power you could ask for. the key is matching it up with a rod that balance`s. . Why go bear hunting with a switch?

I have 2 113h reels I use when I make it out for mudhole trips but they are 3.7 retrieve. 2.1 is a lot of cranking to check your bait but if the doggies and eels are thick you can bring them up easy.

It will work but the low gear ratio is going to kill you. Something with a 4:1-6:1 ratio will serve you much better!
