My buddy Steve hit a local hole in Rahway this past Saturday for a few hours and managed 2 largies. One was of the 2 lb variety and the other... well, just take a look at the other. EL GIGANTE!!! He didn't measure or weigh the fish but judging by the pics, it looks as if the fish is 5-6 lbs--if not more considering the gut was large and stuffed. Siiiiiiick fish...
Took a 1/4 oz white spinnerbait. We've been tossing them since June and time after time they've been producing.
Catch em' up!

That is the BEST largemouth I have ever seen taken out of there. Nice job!

Yea man... We've been fishing there and Clark Reservoir--pulling out some pretty solid toads since May. But that fish EASILY takes the cake on the year for those locations. Another friend of mine was fishing further back a few weeks before this fish was caught and nailed a 4-5 lb fish. He was fishing solo so his pics werent as nice as Steve's but it was easily almost as big. He got that one on a black and red spinnerbait.
Def been getting some quality fish out of there the last few years... Time = rewards!

Very impressive fish for sure. Not too familiar with those two bodies of water. Are they fishable by boat or only from shore?

I've seen people rowing thru Milton but I think Clark Reservoir is a no-go. Aside from residents along the lake dunking row boats and canoes once in a blue moon, I havent seen anyone floating around. I fish both from shore. The spots I fish in Milton you can cast across. Clark's a diff story but I've done quite well from the shoreline.
