Took a half day from work to finally get up to Greenwood Lake for some afternoon jigging. Though the forecast called for less, we were greated by choppy and windy conditions. Paddled for about an hour into the wind and wet before throwing down the anchor. Got into this guy at about 4oclock. Fish measured 21", no weight as my scale needs batteries. Hooked into one more fish but had it spit the hook on the way up. Winds finally died and the rain started after sunset. Rough day to be in the kayak, but well worth popping my Walleye cherry FINALLY.

THAT'S A BEAUTY! I caught my first this year as well now I got the bug and can't get enough fishing for them. So stoked can't wait till the spring/summer bite next season! Been buying stuff and searching the web for everything i can find out about catching them. Mine was four and a half pounds and was the first fish of the day after less than a half hour of fishing. I'm a big believer in CPR but I had to try eating them and they are one of the best fish to eat I ever had. Congrats on the determination and sucess of your first and hope you hook up with many more.

Thanks guys. Lots of time, effort, late nights and early mornings spent at Monksville and Swartswood with nothing but skunks/bass to show for it. First time out on this lake and got rewarded. Hoping the rest are a lot easier from this point. On a side note, if anyone happens to snag a black paddle, let me know! Got claimed by the murky depths of Greenwood with Jimmy Hoffa and the Loch Ness Monster. Had to have my buddy paddle-drag my ass back to the launch!
Great fish. Makes dealing with the cold much easier!
