9/27 Passaic river @ 2 Bridges... 2 pike

Hit 2 bridges today from 5-6:30pm.... used custom-tricked out popper and nailed a nice approx 10lb Pike (top photo) and 8lb pike(bottom photo ).....

I customized the popper by removing the front and back treble hooks and I added a 3/0 twist lock "texas rig" hook on the back of the popper.. I then rigged a twin tail white grub to the hook... The end result is weedless popper with dangling grub tails which easily gets through the weeds, pads and slop and the hook up ratio is significantly better because of the 3/0 texas rig hook.....:cool: *You can see the popper/grub hooked to the Pike in the bottom pic.....

Nice job.....like that popper adjustment. Good Idea. And kudos on being able to drag your ass out of bed that early. I find it very difficult to do lately....espcially when its rainy.
