Wilson and I met up early morning and headed up to Beaver Brook. We figured that the cooler evening temps the past couple of weeks would turn the trout bite on. Boy, how right we were! Water was low, cool and clear, and fifty feet from the bridge where we parked we started slamming the trout. As expected the fish were gathered in the deeper pools. All told we fished about a 1/2-mile stretch of river and caught better than two dozen trout between us, from about 10 to 17 inches, numerous chubs, a couple sunfish, and a ~4 lb. sucker. Most fish fell for a half nightcrawler drifted weightless, with a few here and there on jigs and spinners. Not bad for mid-September.

A few pics below.

We came across a giant blow down right on the shore of the stream. Massive root - dirt ball. At least 14 feet high.

Water was clear as a bell!

A very nice day getting my old legs in shape for the fall season after taking most of the summer off:)

I think you are on private property
There are no posted signs anywhere. We don't litter and cpr'd all fish.
In fact all the signs I saw were state stocking signs.
So what's your point anyway?
Great first post here KRONK.

Your negative response in unwarranted just trying to clue in the CLUELESS.
The rainbow with your hands in its gills and mud on its belly is dead, if you did release it. The other rainbow with the death grip around its belly is also dead.

So you have a problem with the cpr method not the private property?

And as for the mud on the belly...plaleeze.
The hand is inside the gill plate not in the actual gills.
Death grip? The fish was out of the water 30 seconds and fish swam away strong.
Trout are little tougher then you think.
They are still alive after a dry hot summer.

Keep your clues to yourself:p
