Went to SR looking for some Hybrid and caught this Pike about 10pm he is about 25 inches, didn't want to stress him so I just unhooked him in the water and took the picture. Had a light out for the first time. I wanted to see if it would do anything, as you can see in the picture it attracted herring. Not sure I'm hooked on using it, but we did catch this pike and one of the 2 Hybrids we caught using it. As my fishing bud Tom said (all those herring around the boat can't be a bad thing) so we will see.

Flatcreek, by any chance could you be referring to Tom H? Just a hunch.

Nice fish Phil. You should build a nice Herring tank at your house. Ill come buy all my bait from you.

Eddie: I think that would be against the law, but getting a few for myself may be a good idea.

Catfish: No this would be Tom G.

One of you guys should know, are Pike normaly a night bitting fish?

Very cool post and report. As for Pike at night, from my understanding and research, they feed (almost) exclusively during daylight hours, with dawn and dusk being the prime times. That being said, my buddies and I were out in the boat in July and my friend had a Pike blowup on his spook twice before finally crushing it less than 5ft. from the boat. Solid 30" fish. So I guess there are exceptions to every rule.
