I caught a variety of fish on spinners & buzzbaits today. I mostly caught pike in the 22-28" size range with one larger lost. Also got a bunch of LMB, 1 large smallie and a decent crappie. Only one lure lost so I call that a good day! I was out there for 4 hrs it wasn't great fishing but not terrible either. Action seemed to come in bunches as there were long stretches(1 hr or more) of nothing seen or hooked. Action seemed to be best about an hour before sunset.

I'll add that the most of the pike came from around submerged logs and not weedbeds or other river debris - which was most of the case this year. They seem to like hiding along or beneath them and pouncing on food near them. Funny thing is I could see the logs clear as day but never saw the pike until they attacked the lures. For a fairly large fish, they sure hide very well.
