Well of course I can blame the rain in the past couple of days on my skunk, but the river wasn't really that high or muddy in the area I fished this afternoon. There are a few deep holes that has produced over 100 pike this season in this area alone, and with 90 minutes in my kayak late this afternoon..........not even a follow....not even a strike.... and not even a bass.

Looking back on my my "fishing log"....this was the first time in the past 37 trips that I didn't catch at least one pike.

Thats it.....the river is done, and don't waste your time anymore on the river trying for pike.

On a good note.....I didn't smell like the Passaic river when I got home :)

Ill blame the recent rains then:cool: . I was out there tonight and saved the skunking with 1 small Pike. No follows, no blowups....slow night.

36 for 37 is pretty impressive though!!!

We all have our spots on the Passaic. You cant catch em all the time. They were smashing sunnies in one of my spots over the weekend. Sometimes they really need something alive to feed on. Managed a couple that evening on a jointed RAPALA.
