Fished a northern NJ reservoir from 530am til 3pm sunday. Started off w some dink sammies and a few decent largies early on hitting structure on shorelines. Late morning did a slow troll to deeper water. Nailed this beauty walleye (PB) on a shad rap jointed.

In deeper water we slip lined herring a few feet down as we watched smallies blowin up bait for hours in deep water. About a dozen 2lbs plus and a few 1-2lbs. pics to prove we did it

Nice fish. Been thinking of getting a fishfinder. What model are you using. Does it help you catch fish. Do you recommend it. Thanks Bruce

I have a 998 w side and down imaging on the bow. It changed the way I fish honestly. Was big bucks tho. I have a 595 on the console that is a nice color basic w gps and its good to for what it is. Its pretty hard to guess the depths of water or use lures/weights to feel the bottom. I can see the thermocline w both of them in the summer months, and if you cant see it and fish deeper than it, u are just wasting your time might as well cast in ur pool

I was on the lookout for peeps but didnt see anyone I recognized or any boats from the site. I was over by the dam from 1130 til I left in the deeper water. My boat is a burgundy and tan 17' LOWE says it in big letters on the side. Which boat were u guys in Mitch? Always say hi if u see me out there!
