I'll be spending the next 2 weeks in Connecticut for work so naturally............

Found a few nearby spots. Unfortunately Indian lake which is on my way to work is.........private. But, I did find a nice spot on the Housatonic River, with a public boat launch, about 10 mins away from the hotel. Nice spot!! Unfortunately, after throwing a crankbait, a spinner, and a swim bait, I only dinked out with the spinner. Got 2 "large"ies and a yellow perch.

I did see LOTS of fish activity around but I think it was toooooo shallow on the edge and deepened up in the middle. That's were the most activity was anyway. Wouldn't mind gettin a day permit and bringin the boat up sometime................

Try to get on Candlewood Lake. It's worth it.

Thanx! Looks like it would be a semi-hike, but if it's worth it......... How about Bantam lake?? Ever try it?? Read that it's, pikey!!!! But also weedy!! I'd imagine the shore spots are weeded.........

Went back out today for another shot. Funny thing is, when I went back to my spot it was chained of with a no trespassing sign. Must just close at dusk?

Anyway, decide to scrounge up a new spot real quick. Found a nice spot further down stream. While walkin up I noticed a couple dead shad, one seemed real "fresh". So I got excited, maybe some live ones too? Nope, after an hour and a half I got the skunk. Still nice to wet a line though.........

I've never fished for shad. Is it still possible to get some or are they just dying off? If so, what works best for them?

That is a bunker not a shad... ;)

Hmmmm, ok. It does look like a shad right? So, if there's bunker around, stripers should be too?
