I've been seeing lots of nice size carp cruising the surface and was thinking about targeting them today. I'm wondering what people use for them on top (will they even bite on top or are they just basking in the sun?). Only caught them on the bottom on corn but would love to hook into one of those tankers on the surface. Do they make floating corn? :D

Sheet, if I didn't have to go to a Birthday party today I'd meet up. I have to also go to the Mount Carmel festival later as well.

sweet, I'll google it. scouted a few more spots today and one was packed with 8-10lbrs while the other had 10-12lbrs, getting so shallow those tanks can't hide anyware!

CORN!

I have a buddy that fishes near Cranberry with a fly rod and sends pics all the time where he nailed them with corn on "the fly" Man I gotta try that action

There are several companies that have floating corn and most carp tackle websites like bigcarptackle and resistancetackle carry it but floating corn doesn't work nearly as well as bread, popup corn works better on a hair rig to pop your bait an inch or two off the bottom. Try feeding the carp bread to gain their confidence then toss in a piece with a hook in it. It helps to hook the bread through the crust so it stays on better during the cast and in the water. If you want to try corn use sweet corn under a float.

thanks, second one to mention mulberry's, with the river getting so low the carp are packed into holes like the ones in the tanks at the restaurants in chinatown!
