So three times already this month while trying to enjoy at little peace & quiet fishing, I've had anglers pass by going about 20-30 mph in their little motorboats. They scare all the fish by doing this(caught fish before they passed by; none afterwards each time) and also send waves of water crashing into shore which muddies up everything. Can you be anymore rude? There are others out there trying to fish, not just you. If u see someone fishing, just slowdown and pass quietly. You don't zip on by 20' from people just because the sun is setting and your afraid of the dark. We can all share and enjoy the river together. There is no need to be rude and ruin another anglers day for no good reason.

Rant over...

WOW!!!....It's getting to be like war out there.....I have the same problems with disrespectable pleasure kayakers at one of the spots I fish....They go by you literally 40 feet away like you are invisible ,right in line where you are casting, and then when you say something they get all defensive....The freaking lake is 500 acres!!!!...Is there really a need to drive that close you morons!!!....... .....Time to get the Megaphone on the boat and start giving warning before I start chucking sh*t at them as well.....I can totally relate to what you went through....

I fish many lakes from shore(or wading) in NJ and Pa and the boat fellas r fairly cool keeping a distance but the kayakers? In the famous words of Donnie Brasco - fugetaboutit! Most r not fishing and just cruise by huffing & puffing within a few feet as if I'm not standing there. They wave, smile and say hello as if its a social event. I'm there to fish, not make friends or make small talk. Now I don't kayak but if I did, I'd have the courtesy to give anglers a wide berth or just reverse direction. How others don't think to do this really puzzles me.

Yeah,.........& while fishing on the Del. R.,....the Hot Dog Man with his megaphone mouth bombing around on his jet boat,....& all his tubers bouncing off of you & throwing their trash in the water,......& the jet skiers.

It is called: "Multi-use"

I think this is part of the problem I ran into yesterday. Instead of talking and sharing some knowledge on a sport we all like, most fisherman become territorial douches.

And, yes, after seeing it from both sides, shore fisherman are jealous of boaters. However, having access to more water, boaters should be considerate a shore fishers limited space. But, that's just me..............

Yup. No respect for the people fishing from land. I once had a guy in a kayak literally paddle over my line. My friend then proceed to cast his rapala about 2 feet from the guys head.

I have a boat and always respect both boaters and land-locked anglers territory...just saying

IMO the jet skiers, not so much of a problem in the fresh water here in NJ, but a real pain in the ARSE in coastal places here, are my real pet peeve.

Disturbing the water and killing the fishing is unacceptable, but we all know we have to deal with it from time to time as those that typically do it are not fishermen and don't know any better.

BUT, those A-holes that we all encounter now and then...A RANT in certainly in order and always remember to given them the NJ State BIRD! Can't stop em but extending the NJ Salute may be your only consolation.

Where are the motorboaters launching from?

With a johnboat, anywhere I want, lol.............

As long as its legal. :D But the trolling motor doesn't scare any fish.

Also, there are quite a few homes in the river. People may just be launching from their back yard docks.
