Headed over to Spruce Run this evening for a few hours. Due to the wind and threat of storms, I opted to not fish my usual area and settled around the back of one of the points. Fishing was slow. I caught nothing until after dark them I landed the fish in the attached photo. It took a live herring hung 10 feet under a slip float in 20 feet of water.

Thanks Eddie,
It had no fight until it got to the boat, then it seemed to get a bit pissed, for some reason. Perhaps it did not like the paint color on my boat. LOL!
I expect to be back this evening.

Nice pike! I've only fished SR once, from a rented boat, mid-day. Went home stinking like skunk. Can't wait to give it another shot........

I spent a summer renting those boats there with a couple friends. We got skunked everytime lol. Not a fan of that place. Although one guy I work with only fishes from the shore there and kills hybrids and catfish with a pike or two mixed in on live minnows.

Nice fish Andy, my grandson got a 24 incher last year the same way. (middle of the day) Spruce Run is a hard one to figure out, still trying to do it myself. But it is a beautifull lake and you never know what your going to catch.

It is a wonderful lake to fish. I always enjoy my evenings on the water there.
Heading back again shortly.
