Waited for the passing storms to clear up and headed up to Canistear around 2:30. Water was stained, but not as bad as echo a few days ago. Ended up being a bit more productive as well.

Got an average smallie in the first 20min, then after an hour of slooooow fishing, I hooked into a decent battle. Wasn't sure what it was, maybe an eye? Nope, diesel pick!! Possible pb. Last time I got one this size was out of the CG res a long time ago so I can't remember.

Followed it up with a couple more average smallies, a decent largie, and another nice pick. Off the water at 8:30.

Went to oak ridge once so far. Heavy weed cover and windy conditions made it difficult to fish. Left after a few hours of skunking.

Ive been wondering about oak ridge. Each lake gets stocked with something. Clinton, trout, echo, musky, Canistear, walleye. But I havnt been able to find anything about Oak Ridge. I'm assuming with the heavy weeds theres prob some Hog lmb patrolling around. So I guess Oak Ridge is a trophy bass lake?

Gonna have to give it another try with a diff approach and see what happens.

Was talking to the guy in the office at Echo, he said that Oak ridge was all bass.

yah... caught a nice 5lb lmb from oakridge 2 years ago. my fav thus far is clinton, echo havent fished as much as i did years ago because of when then drained it. years ago at echo i caught 20 fish and hookd a huge musky i think that got off.... heard fishing is not as good as it use to be.. but really going to try it this year and land that monster musky lol if oakridge is heavy on brush cover i may avoid it.. i have been fishing the watesheds for 15plus years...

I used to shore fish Clinton and Echo all the time. That's what got me interested in the others. Finally got to put some time in on each lake this year. Def gonna have to go back to Oak Ridge and give it some more effort. I'm sure theres some lunkers in there.
