A buddy of mine netted a bunch of these today at a local stream. Any idea what it is?

Without a doubt......a black nosed dace. They are a bit delicate to keep alive but I've used them for smallmouth bass and trout in the streams fished the same way you would fish a fathead minnow. The fish ate them just as well as the fatheads.

Looks like a black nosed dace. They are confused sometimes with a creek chub they look similar..
