Fished the South Branch yesterday. One brook trout. The sulfer flies were all over. I watched a fly fisherman constantly nail one trout after the other in a pool on a dry sulfer fly. I witnessed hundreds of jumps. But they would not take bait. This afternoon I fished 1/2 mile of the North Branch. Not even a bite. Water was a little higher, colder and had a slight stain color. Be back at it tomorrow afternoon.

perhaps try a small rap floated and twitched on top the next time.

if they are looking up... fish up!

another thought... go buy a few sulfers, then use that same floating rap, but now have a 12" piece of 2-4lb mono tied off one of the rapala's hooks with a sulfer on the end, then clean up instead of just watching :D

tough is the right word. Was out at Musky tonight right after the stocking. saw about 30 fish in a hole, was skunked! the guy next to me cleaned up with flatheads. I had worms! tried nymphs on a flyrod nothing?
