Trout streams are funny.

You can be fishing a stretch of water that you may or may not be holding some fish, little fish or no fish.

But when you get a hatch come out throughout the stream and you see that water start to boil and get trout to engorge on a hatch.

Very rarely I see that since I usually am off the by lunchtime.

I was speaking to my dad who decided on Sunday to fish an area in the flystretch in the BFB close to home.

Was having fun.. few here few there, was really exploring new water since last year's winter really changed the place.

All of a sudden, he says it from as far as he could see up and down, fish just started boiling all over the water everywhere and it was game on until the hatch was over. Where you thought there were no fish, all of a sudden the water was just boiling. The fish are there, if they want to bite is the question

He said it was one of the coolest sites he has seen this yr on the streams.

My dad is a baitfisherman by heart but retirement has soften him a lil to now do both.. He has been really enjoying it.

It's a cool sight. However, they were likely not all trout; chubs, sunfish, even smallmouths will eat the same bugs the trout are keyed in on.
