Hit the big river today looking for early season Walleye but saws people getting into some good Shad so I changed my mind and joined the Shad click for the day. Did well on the Shad late morning into the afternoon, guys were catching pretty much all day. Saw NJF member FLATCREEK on the water he knows his shad and had a good day as well. Flatcreek if you are wondering, I made it off the river without getting towed. Engine started and ran just enough to get me close to the boat ramp then I rowed my oversized row boat on to land. Yep boys fuel pump went or something but the fishing was good, many SHAD had by all anglers today!!! All in all a great Shad day on the water. TIGHT LINES!!!
P.S. Any boat mechanics on here??? I would like to get my fuel pump problem solved ASAP. I am not the best mechanic in the world and I don't want to break anything. If somebody could help id appreciate it. $$$$$$$$$$$:D

Glad to see you made it in ok, I did ckeck to see if you were off the water when I came in. Got the grandson and my son a couple so you know I had a good day, but it wasn,t as good as last night I couldn't get the spot I wanted, but the guy in it was doing real well. I probably should of kept my mouth shut last night , everybody was there today. Thats ok plenty of shad for everyone, Tight Lines Eddie.

Are you using a water seperator between your tank and motor? Make sure your gas didn't shit the bed before you start ripping motor parts. Just a suggestion.I changed my fuel pump on my 2000 Merc 30 Jet motor few years back it's not that hard to do but don't assume it's the fuel pump right away. Could be the needles in your carbs which is a little tricky to do. I had the service manual for my motor also which made it a lot easier.

Change your primer ball if not new, your fuel pump is a diaphram which is pretty simple.

1-gas- try new along with a new ball
2-plugs- fouled from fogging if you did that
3-carb- really sounds like you have crud in the needle or float area- if you can't blow through the needle- bingo- get some ether or brake cleaner and put on small straw and clean it out- be careful don't spray in your eyes!
