Got up this morning and decided to get a few hours in before the storm. Picked up my buddy and headed over to Barbours pond. After about 30 min I hit my new pb brown. Fought like beast. Has to be 5.5# or better.
After a few sunnies and a missed stockie we decided to head over to a Passaic River spot. Not much going on there until a nice size pike followed my spinner in and took it about a foot off shore and ran. After a quick battle I landed my biggest pike of the year so far. Not a bad day at all, other than the weather.........

It might be a tie with one other I caught but the pic doesn't do it justice. Seemed longer than the other, but not as chunky.
I didn't think they mixed salmon in with the stockers but if it is someone let me know. That way I can cross it off the list of fish I've caught this year. Cause that's one I didn't think I'd get, lol.

Definetly not a salmon, a brown for sure landlocks don't have that many spots. The state doesn't have salmon in the hatcheries they are imported from Masachusetts I think. A real beauty, how long was it?

Without a measure, 24/25 inches.

Oh, and just in case anyone was wondering. Even though the pike looks like a dented can, it took off with vigor upon release.
