Now that the discussion has taken place as far as setting up for carp, does anyone have any spots out in western NJ that I could give a try?? I know big fish are in the Delaware, but was looking for some smaller bodies to take my kids to. Thanks in advance.

Right in the town of Clinton on Halstead St. There is a backwater of the So Branch that has many medium size carp.

Round Valley!! Ive seen some monster on the south shore in late may/early june around the weed lines while targeting bass.... 3-4 ft long, was never prepared to fish for them, or had enough desire to go after them instead of trout while on the boat. Some spots I would see 30-50 near the surface with the average fish being 3ft. Has anyone actually caught any there? Spruce Run has a good amount of carp and catfish to boot, but the kgb hit them pretty hard. I've caught some smaller ones 18" or so on the south branch by the 78 overpass below clinton falls.

Spruce Run is awesome for carp. Every time I am there, I see them all over the place. Chum heavily (especially with creamed corn-disburses scent better) and you should do well.
