after getting skunked 3 times this season i finally hooked a few. took the yak out today from 1230 to about 6 at spruce run. threw different lures all day, hooked the 2 smaller Large mouths with wacky rigs in the shallows. then hooked into a decent bucket mouth with a mepps tiger colored spinner in the middle of the lake.
caught the rest off a floating rapala in the shallows working it pretty fast.
saw one nice sized small mouth in shallow but wanted nothing to do with anything i threw at it.
saw tons of huge carp.
not sure if there are trout in there but sure looked like it when they were jumping out of the water feeding on the surface bugs.
After, stopped at Millers Tavern for a beer and pizza. great day!!!!
