fished lake hopatcong all weekend and did very well.lots of perch a few crappie some bluegills and some big pickerel.caught fish all around the lake on
both sat and sun.there was a good perch bite at lakes end marina on both days, afternoon was better.brady bridge was a steady pick both days also.so i would start each spot casting the jig and bobber for the panfish and would finish up throwing some big floating rapalas. every spot had pickerel, most 12"-18" but my brother got one 23-1/2 inches.at a few spots those slime darts were chasing the small sunnies right out of the water.should only get better
with the warm weather.

i'm thinking of taking wednesday off, suppose to be sunny with now wind.
see if i can get those slime darts to smash some top water stuff.i filleted my brothers pickerel and he steamed it on the grill with fresh onions, tamatos, peppers and garlic.then sprinkeled it with some balsomic when serverd, pretty good!!!

Cool report! I'll be fishing Pompton Lake today in hopes of the Slime Dart's slimey bigger cousin the Pike. What kind of depths were the fish?

2-4ft was best.a slow steady reel worked best.black and silver and blue and silver were the colors.they were following allot but the one that hit,hit hard.

Thanx for the report, good fishing! I was on the main lake sunday, looking for something BIG!!! Good to hear the perch and pickerel are where they are supposed to be.
