Took advantage of the gorgeous day and went to Nomahegan for an hour in between classes. I threw various color and brand soft plastics for about a half with no luck and no signs of life.
Then I switched to a fire tiger rooster tail in hopes of at least finding some sunnys. 10 minutes later I got my first bass of 2012 at a whopping 5 inches :D after that I caught the one in the picture which was probably the biggest. In total I caught 7 fish. Even though they were small it was a fun start to the year.
The key to small lakes and ponds is Ultra Light tackle. As long as your drag is set right you can still land the big ones. When they can't be found it makes the little guys a lot more fun!
