Took advantage of the spring-like weather and hit the river for a bit after work with my brother. The action was pretty slow, but I managed this chunky football on a livelined shiner a few feet off the bank. We had a couple more light hits, but no more hookups. Will be down there again today for a bit (70 degrees  ). I have some shiners left, but will probably toss some Senkos for the the first time this year and see what happens.

Nice!! I also hit the river yesterday. Day just started out bad when the bait shop was closed for some reason? Tried another one I knew of and apparently they went out of business?
Decided to throw some lures and snagged of 2 in 30 min. Then decided to hit the store for some chicken livers to test the cats out. Nothin. Overall got the skunk but it was a nice day.

Man don't even talk about snags lol. I broke off like 6 times between the rod I was using and the one my younger brother was using. Naturally, big brother was the one tying back up every time. I'm getting quicker at the mono-->barrel swivel-->flour leader-->hook tie up though!

Meltzer's in Garfield. Give them a call before you take the ride though to make sure they have them. 973-478-7647.
The woman that works at Totowa B&T is definetly an interesting character. The one time I went there with my buddy, she jokingly splashed shiner water in his face. I was dying laughing, my buddy...not so much :p .
