All winter I've been trying to get a good fish above 5#'s well today was payoff day, big time!
Did three for four but "ALL" over 20"! I estimated a 24" fish at 5#'s or so while a 25" plus I would say probably 6# plus!
This fish was one of the hardest looking trout I believe I caught south of Alaska.
Had a open sore behind pectoral about 1" in diameter, his kype extended a full 1/2" beyond upper jaw.
Other than that the most beautiful whistle bow I got all winter!
Funny thing I ordered some new metal last week to restock for spring troutin'.
My supplier sent some extra small stuff that I don't use much, with
low water today it proved beyond a doubt even elephants eat peanuts!
What a great day on my fav NJ trout waters, still plenty of time & trout left to finish off winter season strong ,
Water temp mid 40's
Water low clear
All lures
Strong hits
Hatches all over trout workin'em
Used a new mono today Blackwater Toray Fluoro, exceptional fluoro carbon 100% line!
