The weather looks a bit windy to fish so it's time to ride out to Cabela's to stock up for fishing this season.
I got a gift card for Xmas that's burning a hole in my pocket!
On the list is a new reel to fit my new rod and a new rod to fit my new reel.
I was also reading that Cabela's and the PA fish comission are teaming up to raise Muskies for stocking.
There are supposed to be hundreds of Muskie fry in one of their aquariums. I'll bring the camera and post back if it is true, and also warn them about Catfish on the lake:D

Anybody else?

Think I saw them in Dec when I was there...didn't know what they were

Going to Cabelas for me always means at subsequent stop at Deitrich's Meats on the way back (can't miss the sign and exit)-this place is awesome w/jerky to die for and everything in the store first rate

Guess they will be bigger now, or replaced by new ones.
At what size do they stock the fish at?

I'm not really sure what size they stock them at. I heard ( not sure if it's true or not ) They will stock anywhere from 6-12 inch. But that is what I heard for NJ. Wonder if any of those musky will end up in NJ or all in PA.

I passed through there very quickly and was on to shopping as I have been there so many times.

When I get the chance to go there, I like to make a day event out of being there. I get lost in fish tank area, the deer garden, ok and the rest of the place. I like to take it all in and just walk around slowly.

Thanks man, That pic looks way better on my phone then it does online though.

Made it out to Cabela's by 8:30 AM in spite of the howling wind and blizzard conditions along the way.
Saw all the Muskies as well being raised to stock.
Bought a Team Daiwa Fuego 50th anniversary model 2500.
Picked up some line and Panther Martin spinners and few other doodads.
Could not find a rod to my liking there so I passed on the rod...for now;)
Also got a few nice pocket golf shirts for the incredibly low price of 7.66 each. Hit Genies Wienies on the way back, now time for a nap.

Man that wind is a blowing!

Good stuff man. I was thinking about joining you, but I had a day planned with the lady. Seeing as I go fishing everyday, I try not to cancel plans with her. We had a good day though. If the weather is gonna suck next weekend, I may consider going to the Suffern show. Let me know if anyone else is thinking about heading up there and maybe we can hang. I'm 50/50 at best about that though.
