After getting some wise advice from Andy I hit the Valley today for the first time in a long while.
Got off to a late start due to the Bait shop opening just a 1/2 hour after I arrived. Got a dozen shiners and upon arriving in the boat-ramp area shortly after 8 o'clock I saw that the shore and causeway were pretty crowded. So drove into the main park and did the trek to my honey-hole in the back and gut-hooked a 18", 1.5 LBS brown within 20 minutes of arriving which will be dinner tomorrow night. About 90 minutes later I hooked into a fat 15" bow that unhooked itself in my net for a quick C&R. I left shortly after.
Beautiful day and a good start my first time out for 2012.
