Found a ton of BFT...

...but man we couldn't hook one. Seeing them fly out of the water is truly a sight to behold. Tried sliders, jigs, Ron-Z's but couldn't get tight on one. Heard some radio chatter that a few were hooked but I think most guys were like us, chasing but not hooking up.
We did have a close encounter with some dolphins though...

That is awesome. Thanks for sharing that. I was hoping to see the BFT on video, I have never seen them jumping out or feeding as a lot have seen this year. The water looks like a pool

Hence the obsession this time of year, in close enough to touch, but so picky, and your shot at them may consist of a 1 minute window or less when they surface...at least ya got to see em, nice report JBird.

Same place. As close as 2 miles and as far as 10 off SRI.

It was so flat and glassy that around 40 seconds or so into the vid you can see my reflection in the water with the dolphin underneath.
