I fished Burnham Park pond in Morristown the past 2 saturdays and today, all from 6:45 to 8:30.
9/17 - 10 bullheads 9-13" and 1 carp about 6lb all on corn
9/24 - 1 bullhead 11" and 2 carp 6lb and 8lb all on corn
10/2 - 5 bullheads 9 to 14" no carp. I missed 10 fish easily because my hands were cold and I couldn't feel the line when i picked the rod up to set the hook at the right time.

Water temp today is much warmer than the air even with the rain...fish turned off at 8am on the dot

neat, i didn't know there were any carp in there. i fished that pond a few times back in the spring because it was one of the waters stocked with extra brood stock trout.

Good job on the carp. It was cold out there today, felt more like mid November than October.

Crusty - Yes, thats where the name comes from. One of my favorite bands. I take it you like them?

A - I live 5 minutes from there and speedwell, so whenever I get an hour or 2 I run down there to fish...The "lower pond", as I call it (with the fishing platforms) has fewer carp, smaller carp and more catfish than the "Upper pond". Last year, I caught some huge carp from the upper pond, i weighed one at 19lbs and 32", the average is about 8lbs. Both have a good distribution of pickerel, mediocre amount of largemouth (there are some nice ones up to 19", but very few and wary to boot)

AJ - Thanks, I think the bass/carp/cats are going to shutoff this week, time to switch to trout.
