Always looking to get together with some people for a little fishing during the week. I'm in north jersey (Bergen) county. I fish some local lakes and reservoirs almost every day. Let me know if you have any recommendations on places to fish or want to meet up to do a little fishing.

Work in bergen - live in morris - travel through passaic 2x per day - where do you live in BC? I work in south hackensack but don't know much about the area as far as fishing is concerned...

I live in the north east corner of Bergen county. Harrington Park, there a few little ponds and lakes by me that I like to fish. Always looking for new areas though. Let me know if you are fishing any of your local spots and don't mind having some company. I'm willing to travel!

Did you ever fish the Oradell Res.? You used to be able to get a permit and fish the res. but only from shore.
They charged I think $5.00 for the permit, and it was worth it.
Fishing the Shamokin dam power plant on the Susky. was great too...until 9/11:mad:

yea you can still fish there. I'm actually thinking of going tonight for a little bit. All you need is your nj fresh water license and a permit from United Water. I can access it within walking distance of my house. Good fishing there but I've only tried night fishing it 2 times and didn't have any luck.

Thanks Wilson, I'll give it a try. Last night I picked up a few small bass on the surface.

I'm in Hasbrouck Heights. I would love to meet up as well. I usually fish the top lake at the Ramapo reservation and do well on lmb, smb, and trout.
I have some type of key and pass to locked protected watersheds that were closed after 9/11. I never used it and will have to find it. I am sure it is expired but i can see what i need to do to.get an up to date pass.
My boss gave it to me as he knows my love for fishing.

Dave, I think they changed the key every year. Let me know when you want to go and I will meet you at the Gate #1.

I fish all over around here, most days after work I'm out there. I live in Oradell and the reservoir has good fish in it, it's just big water. Some good stripers up there too. I have hit damn near every bit of water up here lately (including where I shouldn't be) and there's just not really any fish around better than 3 lbs. Anxiously waiting for fall.

Have you landed any Hybrid Stripers there recently? My girlfriend lives in Dumont not too far from there and have been waiting for some Hybrid reports before I dish out the cash for the permit.

I saw them one day earlier this year taking baits off the surface but I was on the wrong point and didn't have time to walk around. They are there, try topwaters in the last 2 hours of light or so...you need something you can get good casting distance out of too...just walk till you see them, it used to be really consistent but haven't put much time in there lately, been too distracted.

I've been ripping up the reservoir lately. The hot spots have been solid and I live 2 minutes from a spot you can fish day or night. I've been doing best at night.

Best fishing in Bergen county in my experience is fishing all the country club/golf course ponds! so many golf courses. Fat bass that eat ProV1's all day lol... I just run on at sunset. if your feeling adventurous. ;) Arcola has some cows in there ponds.

haha, agreed! I grew up fishing the ponds in Tammy Brook and Montammy country clubs in Cresskill that are now all developed.
I work pretty closely with the United Water people and i was told they haven't stocked Hybrids in probably 10+ years by now. If there are any old dogs still swimming around in there, they gotta be in wheelchairs by now...

Good info, thanks. Imagine catching a Hybrid in a wheelchair though? EPIC!
