Thinking about making it a half-day at work and wanted to see if anyone is fishing this afternoon, this evening. Looking for suggestions too. I was thinking about wading the Raritan or the Big D for smallies. Gonna hit the Passaic for pike tomorrow morning and feel like taking a little drive today to get out of Union County.

I can't. I have my cousin's birthday tomorrow followed by my fiancee's aunt's 60th bday party. Sunday I have to write the reports for The Fisherman. Aside from a couple hours tomorrow morning and 30 mins. or so on Sunday, tonight is the night.

I am going to go fish for walleye tonight on the full moon. I was thinking probably Monksville.

Nice. Let us know how you do. I'm going to head to the Big D around 3 or 4pm and catch some smallies, maybe a kitty or three and hopefully even a walleye. Gonna put the bathing suit and the wading boots on, pick up some baby crawlers and stuff the vest with Senkos, small stickbaits and white spinnerbaits. Think I'll take FastEddie's advice and see if I can find a parking spot in Riegelsville. Never been there, looking forward to an adventure. Catch 'em up.

You know what......that's a great idea. I will. The guy at Hwy. Sports on 31 near Oxford has 'em every once in awhile. I'm sure you know this, but they're Dobsonflies in the larval stage. Ever see a Dobsonfly? They're as big as a bird. I remember I was catfishing in Kentucky on a full moon and those things were crashing into our headlamps. Creepy. Getting stoked for the Big D this afternoon.

so how did everyone else do? i fished from 12 to 3, but was completely skunked... only had a couple bites for the night, and nothing that connected. i did have the entire monksville reservoir to myself though, and it was kind of cool to be motoring around there at night all alone. the water was 75 while the air was 60°, which made for some interesting fog formations.

That place at night is the best. How active was it? Lots of baitfish popping? Any of the big splashes mixed in?

The Delware was a little high and muddy for wet-wading, so I headed back east and stopped at the South Branch for a couple hours. Picked away at smallies and incidental sunfish. Nothing huge, but a good save.
