Sheperds Mills Pond 8/4

Hit Sheperds Mills Pond this morning. This is the third Thursday in a row we have been fishing there:D . Got on the lake late, around 5:30 am. We fished topwaters the entire morning working the entire lake several times. It paid off. We had 27 bass and pickeral by the time we left at 10:00 am. Every fish was taken on topwater. Most of our fish came out in the middle of the lake which is where I had been sight fishing and seeing lots of fish. It was mostly bass with only a few toothy critters. HAVE to give this lake a rest, these fish are defintely gonna start catching on(pun intended):p . Another good day and even better, not one other boat on the water.

Is that the Shepherd Pond that is in Ringwood on the NJ /NY border? Just haven't known it as Shepherd Mills.

Ha....I was just a little off there wasn't I....Thanks for the info. I love the southern part of the state. Never fished down that way though...might have to change my ways.:D
