OK, we weren't fishing the actual Sheperds Mill. The actual pond is about 2 miles away and it's a Girl Scout camp. This lake is near Greenwich,NJ. About 10 acres and gin clear. First time fishing it. Here is my report.

Hit Sheperds Mill Pond this morning. Got on the lake at 5:00 am. We started working the shoreline and the weeds with topwater. By 8:00 am we had 30 bass and pickeral. We caught 6 more fish before 9:00 am which is when we got off the lake. So in 4 hours we caught 36 bass and pickeral. Very good morning of fishing considering we never fished the lake before. Even better, every single fish was on topwater except for the last one. Last one I took by pitching a Mr. Twister at him. Big fish was a 2 lb bass. A good morning of fishing all before the heat hit.

Thanks Lunkertaker. My dad got word that this lake was LOADED with fish. One of his buddies fished it a month ago and did real well with frogs. Gonna give them a shot next time we fish there. We missed a TON of blowups, with the clear water they take one wack at it and turn around. Some blew it up twice but not many. Lost some bigger fish in the scum. Saw a ton of fish in the water. Could sight fish if you wanted to. Mostly bass with only a few small pickeral. Gonna try Stone Tavern for the first time tommorow after checking out the lake this afternoon. Ever fish there before? And if so, what worked? Thanks. Heard it's a lot less pressured. We saw what little pressure on a lake creates today.
