Fished Spruce Run Saturday night with the wife. Not much happening but at around 10 PM we were working shallow weeds near the road bed just off of the boat rental dock. I was fishing a Jig with a baby brush hawg jerking it up quick off the bottom letting it sink then jerking it again etc. Something hits it that feels like I got hung up...then starts peeling drag. I can't see it because it's too dark and I figure it must be a decent hybrid the way it is pulling. After a couple of nice runs it comes to the surface in the net and its a Carp. I obvoiusly snagged it but it was hooked right in the side of the mouth. Nice size fish....great fight... but very wierd .

Pretty cool. Nice job. I caught one in the Connecticut River in Vermont on a Heddon Zara Puppy and my dad caught one in the Saddle River in Paramus on a Rebel Pop-R. I also saw a pic of one close to 30-lbs on the KDC website a year or two ago that hit a trout spinner in the spring. It happens. Not very often.....but it happens.

A friend caught a 20#er @ The Gap on a Shad Dart. Fought for 20 minutes.

Caught one last March on a rapala. Small one, about 4 lbs.. They will hit lures when they are starving. Know someone who caught a 10 lb. carp on rattle trap once.
